Database Performance Engineer (PostgreSQL) at BairesDev As a Database Performance Engineer specializing in PostgreSQL, you will serve as a deep technical expert focused on optimizing the efficiency and reliability of our data systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring sub\-second query times and high availability by identifying and resolving bottlenecks within complex, high\-traffic database environments. What You'll Do: \- Conduct deep\-dive query plan analysis using EXPLAIN ANALYZE to identify and resolve performance hotspots. \- Fine\-tune PostgreSQL autovacuum parameters and maintenance tasks to prevent table bloat and manage disk I/O. \- Optimize database configurations and memory settings, such as shared buffers and work\_mem, to align with workload requirements. \- Design and implement advanced indexing strategies and partitioning schemes to improve data retrieval speeds. \- Implement connection pooling and session management strategies to enhance overall system throughput. \- Collaborate with engineering teams to establish SQL best practices and ensure scalable database design. What we are looking for: \- 4\+ years of experience in Database Engineering, Performance Engineering, or Software Engineering. \- Proven expertise in PostgreSQL performance tuning, query plan analysis, and vacuum optimization. \- Proficiency in using EXPLAIN ANALYZE and pg\_stat views to diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks. \- Hands\-on experience with connection pooling solutions and extension\-level optimization for PostgreSQL. \- Deep understanding of database internals, indexing strategies, and resource management. \- Advanced proficiency in English.
