This will significantly increase your chances of success. #### **About the Opportunity** We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop and operate scalable services using Java, Spring Boot and microservices. You will combine hands\-on development with architectural contribution, feature ownership and continuous delivery in an enterprise or cloud\-native environment. #### **Responsibilities** * Develop resilient, secure and maintainable backend services with Java and Spring Boot. * Own features from requirements and technical design through implementation, deployment, monitoring and improvement. * Design high\-performance REST APIs and event\-driven integrations using API\-first and contract\-first approaches. * Ensure system stability, quality, security and performance through testing, observability and engineering best practices. * Collaborate with Product Owners, Frontend Engineers, Architects and business stakeholders on technical solutions and architectural decisions. * Mentor colleagues, share knowledge and contribute to engineering standards and technology improvements. #### **Requirements** * 5\+ years in backend engineering, with proven experience developing and operating Java/Spring Boot microservices in enterprise or cloud\-native environments. * Strong expertise in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, distributed systems and scalable microservices architectures. * Extensive REST API experience, including design, security, versioning, documentation, lifecycle management and performance optimisation. * Strong knowledge of event\-driven architectures and Apache Kafka integrations. * Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit. * Hands\-on experience with CI/CD, Git, Azure DevOps, Artifactory, SonarQube and code reviews. * Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and building and operating applications in Microsoft Azure; understanding of observability, troubleshooting and production operations. * Fluent English and experience with Scrum/Kanban. Java, Spring, Software Architecture, Kubernetes or Microsoft Azure certifications are an advantage. #### **Ideal Candidate Profile** An autonomous engineer who takes responsibility for technical delivery and balances reliability, security, performance and maintainability.
