The Global Risk \& Compliance Organization ("GRC") is an independent risk management function, with the objective of ensuring that American Express operates in a safe, sound and fully compliant manner within all applicable regulatory expectations. As part of the GRC function, the Global Network Services (GNS) LAC / Brazil Market Compliance team performs second\-line oversight of the American Express payment arrangement in Brazil, ensuring a robust and sustainable compliance risk management framework. The team is responsible for providing Compliance oversight and credible challenge on the management of strategic multi\-country Compliance risks (e.g., AML/CTF and Data Privacy), and performing execution of core components of the American Express Compliance Program. This is an exciting opportunity to join Brazil Compliance working with 1st and 2nd line colleagues as stakeholders across LAC, incl. Risk and Control / Control Management, Legal Entity Compliance Officers (LECO), General Counsel's Organization (GCO), Global Financial Crimes Compliance (GFCC), Global Privacy Oversight (GPO), and other SME teams. * Experience of working in a Compliance role, or Control management, risk, AML/financial crimes, testing, audit or legal experience, preferably within a financial institution, payment institution, or acquirer. * Working knowledge of the Brazilian financial markets regulatory framework (e.g., Law 9\.613/98, Circ. BCB 3\.978, and Res. BCB 150\) and of COAF typologies. * Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with advanced MS Excel and the ability to structure large data sets into metrics and KRIs; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Sisense) advantageous. * Excellent written and oral communication skills in Portuguese and English (Spanish is also considered). * Self\-motivated, energetic team player with strong influencing, relationship building and management skills. * Ability to manage and drive tasks to completion, take on additional responsibilities, and prioritize work in a constantly changing and deadline\-driven environment. * Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and across international markets with various levels of colleagues and leadership * Comfortable to speak up, ask questions and challenge the status quo. * Graduate; Recognized Compliance, AML or Risk Certification (e.g., ACAMS) advantageous.
