International Operations offers a wide range of wholesale and retail automotive financing products for dealers and their customers. The strength of the international business lies in its ability to adapt products to meet the unique needs of dealers, consumer preferences, and national requirements in local markets. Operations in Latin America include Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. **About the role** We’re a diverse, globally distributed, cross\-functional development team looking for an experienced technical product owner to join our friendly cohort. We’ve recently migrated from legacy on\-prem software managed by external vendors to a cloud solution maintained in\-house. We’re taking on new responsibilities and ways of working, and we need your experience to help guide the evolution of our product and practices. We’re launching a new project to bring our Consumer Risk Transformation product — a critical business and compliance application that drives GM Financials’ core financial decisions in Chile, Colombia, and Mexico — to Brazil. As Technical Product Owner, you’ll work closely with a Product Manager and a cross\-functional delivery team to help define and deliver the capabilities needed for a successful rollout and ongoing operation of the platform in Brazil. We’re a hybrid workplace, so you’ll spend at least two days each week in person at our modern São Paulo Brooklin office. **In this role you will:** * Write and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and other documentation * Organize, prioritize, and sequence backlog items so the team always has a clear view of what to work on next and why * Work with business stakeholders, end users, and subject matter experts to understand requirements and document expected system behavior * Partner with software engineers, testers, and solution architects to clarify requirements, answer questions, and refine solutions before development begins * Identify dependencies, assumptions, and gaps in requirements and work with the appropriate teams to resolve them * Review completed features and confirm they satisfy documented requirements and business needs * Support testing activities by clarifying expected outcomes, reviewing test results, and helping investigate defects * Analyze production issues, user feedback, and operational data to identify opportunities for enhancements, fixes, and technical debt remediation * Communicate upcoming work, risks and dependencies, implementation decisions, and release readiness to business and technology partners * Support the rollout and ongoing operation of the Consumer Risk Transformation platform in Brazil **What makes You an ideal candidate?** * Strong verbal and written communication in English and Portuguese * Demonstrated experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, or other actionable work products * Demonstrated experience managing and prioritizing a product backlog in partnership with business and technical stakeholders * Demonstrated experience sequencing software development work to balance business needs, technical constraints, and delivery commitments * Demonstrated experience working closely with software engineers, testers, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver technology solutions, including the ability to understand and discuss technical concepts and tradeoffs * Demonstrated experience with agile software development practices * Integrity, positivity, flexibility, and kindness **Additional Knowledge and Skills** Working effectively within an AI enabled environment: * Ability to use AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to support daily work * Skills in evaluating AI outputs for accuracy, compliance, and bias * Experience integrating AI into workflows to improve efficiency or insights * Familiarity with AI assisted research, summarization, and content generation Understanding of responsible AI use, including ethics and data protection * **Work Experience \& Education** * Bachelor’s and/or advanced degree, preferably in technology, business, or a related field * At least 5 years’ experience working in a product ownership role or similar **Pluses** * Experience implementing software products in a new country, market, business unit, or regulatory environment * Experience working in financial services or another highly regulated industry * Experience with OutSystems or other low\-code application development platforms * Experience leveraging AI\-assisted tools to improve software delivery workflows * Effective verbal and written communication in Spanish **What we offer** At GM Financial, we want you to be the most authentic version of yourself.
