Team members contribute directly to improving global communication and client experiences. **Role Description** This is a full\-time remote role for a Portuguese to English Medical Interpreter. The interpreter will facilitate clear and accurate communication between Portuguese\-speaking patients and English\-speaking medical professionals in a variety of healthcare settings, including telehealth and virtual consultations. Daily tasks include performing medical interpretation in real time, ensuring accurate conveyance of meaning, tone, and intent; using appropriate medical terminology; and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations. The role may also involve sight translation of medical documents, discharge instructions, and consent forms, as well as accurately documenting interpreted sessions when required. The interpreter will collaborate with clinical staff, demonstrate cultural competence, and follow established protocols to support safe, respectful, and effective patient care. **Qualifications** * Strong Medical Interpretation and Interpreting skills, with proven ability to work between Portuguese and English in real time. * Solid understanding of Medical Terminology in both Portuguese and English, particularly in clinical, diagnostic, and treatment contexts. * Proficiency in Simultaneous Interpretation for medical encounters, maintaining accuracy and clarity under time constraints. * Experience with Translation and sight translation of medical documents, forms, and patient information. * Native or near\-native proficiency in Portuguese and English, with excellent listening and speaking skills. * Prior experience as a medical or community interpreter, ideally in healthcare or telehealth environments. * Knowledge of patient confidentiality standards (e.g., HIPAA or equivalent) and commitment to ethical interpreting practices. * Strong cultural competence, professionalism, and ability to remain impartial while supporting patient understanding. * Reliable internet connection, ability to work remotely, and comfort using virtual communication platforms. * Relevant certification or training in medical interpreting or healthcare interpreting is highly preferred.
