#### **Please check back here for the latest roles** ### **Skilled Engineer** Department: Production Hours: 37 per week Job Brief: As a member of a small production team, you will undertake a variety of production tasks using CNC lathes in the main producing good quality product to the correct specification and timescale. Key Activities: * Setting and operating a variety of CNC Machinery, including Citizen sliding head machines, fixed head twin turret lathes and CNC chucking lathes as well as some editing of programs * Undertaking batch production operations to ensure volume, cost and quality standards are achieved, supporting the same endeavours as your colleagues * First off, last off and ad\-hoc inspection to ensure consistency * General basic machine and equipment maintenance and housekeeping tasks Responsibilities include: * Ensuring all components are machined within prescribed tolerances and batch sizes * Promote and practise a right first\-time mentality * Practise high standards of Quality and Health \& Safety * Pro\-actively work with WDS 5s standards * Be actively involved in production CI activities \& Six Sigma Initiatives. Skills Required: * CNC Programming, setting and operating experience * Ability to act decisively to solve technical and equipment\-related problems * Resilience to working under pressure and multi\-tasking * Numerate, logical and systematic working practices * IT Literacy including Microsoft Office package and ERP * Effective communication and interpersonal skills * Flexible approach to ‘getting the job done’ Experience, Education \& Qualifications: Ideally apprentice trained in Mechanical Engineering and at least 1 years’ hands on setting and running CNC machines with full understanding of 5S methodology.
